Research consent
Turn research consent on or off. Versioned, timestamped, and revocable.
Research consent is the on/off switch for whether your de-identified data can later be included in research exports. The default is OFF, and the app is fully usable without ever turning it on.
How it works
- Every change writes a new ConsentRecord — never modifies an old one. The history is preserved.
- Each record stores the consent version, the timestamp, and the IP / user-agent if available.
- Withdrawing consent sets a withdrawn_at on a new record. Research exports created from that point on do not include your data.
Note
Consent to research is separate from clinician access and caregiver access. Granting either of those does NOT consent you to research.
